Обірвані струни - третій альбом гурту US Orchestra. До альбому увійшли вальси, які на початку 20 століття писалися для духових оркестрів. Через велику популярність ця музика потрапила у репертуар традиційних музикантів. Своїми гуртами з трьох - чотирьох інструментів, вони грали музику написану для оркестру. Такі виклики давали цікаві інтерпретації. Музиканти ставали гнучкіші до нової музики, починали грати по-новому, по-своєму. Ми надихнулися цією свободою і так само дозволили собі експериментувати.

Вся музика, що увійшла до цього альбому із села Рашівка, що на Полтавщині. Нам вдалося знайти касету початку 1990-х років із грою тамтешніх музикантів. Згодом натрапили на фотографію 1970-го року, яку зробив місцевий фотограф Микола Галушка. На ній зафіксований момент підриву церкви в Рашівці. Ми побачили у цьому символічність: музика залишається навіть після динаміту.

“Broken Strings” is the third album by the US Orchestra. The album includes waltzes, which were written for brass orchestras in the early 20th century. Being popular, this music has entered the repertoire of traditional musicians. With their bands of three- four instruments, they played music written for the big orchestra. Such challenges led to interesting interpretations. Musicians became more flexible to new music and began to play in their own fresh way. Inspired by this freedom we also allowed ourselves a little experiment.

All the music included in this album is from the village of Rashivka in Poltava region, Ukraine. We were lucky to find a cassette with local musicians playing recorded in the early 1990s. Later we found the old photo taken by local photographer Mykola Halushka in Rashivka, in 1970. The photo shows the moment of the church being blown up. There is something symbolic: the music lives even after the dynamite.
